Engage your students with this hands-on STEM initiative - The Synergy Schools Solar Challenge.
Developed in partnership with Synergy, STAWA is pleased to announce the challenge is back in 2021!
2021 includes five regional events - Albany, Bunbury, Collie, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie, two large metro events North at St Mark's Anglican Community School and South at All Saints College, and a Grand Final.
Events: Student teams of 4 are provide with a new car kit at each event.
Teams are required to build (engineering challenge) and race their cars on event day.
Registrations have closed. Metropolitan heat numbers are capped, while we still have a few places at our regional locations.
The www.solarchallenge.net.au site is evolving to include additional activities and background information along with winners tips, video clips and inspirational articles. You will be give a unique code to access teacher resources once registrations are complete.
This is a great STEM opportunity with FREE Resources including equipment for new schools, classroom activities and the excitement of a competition.

A limited number of kits are available for new schools in 2021, through a partnership between Synergy and STAWA for a Year 6 competition and a Year 8 competition. Each school pack has 8 complete solar car kits. Entry into the competition is FREE.
